Screening and introduction.
In a relatively short period of time the term ‘fake news’ has evolved from a social media phenomenon into an angry political slur, one that threatens the integrity of the press in today’s digital era. With that in mind BanterFlix is hosting a screening of Alan J. Pakula’s Oscar-winning political thriller All the President’s Men as a timely reminder of the importance of good journalism as a means to hold those in political authority accountable for their actions.
Pakula’s film documents the investigations by Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein into the Watergate scandal during the early 1970s, a scandal that ultimately led to the downfall of the Nixon Presidency.
Before the screening a member of the BanterFlix team will introduce the film.
