Bill Neely: 40 years in TV News
The celebrated local journalist will discuss his career, from Belfast in The Troubles to covering wars, earthquakes and US Presidential elections.

Bill was the Chief Global Correspondent for NBC News from 2014-2021. He has been a broadcaster since 1981 and spent 25 years at ITV News before retiring from NBC last year. During his illustrious career, he has won four coveted BAFTA awards, an Emmy and was twice nominated as Broadcasting Journalist of the Year, winning the award in 2011. Bill was born in Glengormley in 1959 and graduated with joint honours in Modern History and English from Queen’s University Belfast in 1981. He was named the Queen’s University Graduate of the Year in 2021 for his work as a broadcaster.
