NB. This event is now SOLD OUT.

Democracy Day – presented with Building Change Trust.

This session will explore the use of Citizen’s Assemblies, which consist of groups of randomly selected citizens, as a tool for deliberative democracy. We’ll hear about case studies in both the UK and internationally and also from one of the most radical and ambitious citizen assembly experiments yet: the Irish Citizens Assembly, convened in Ireland in late 2016.

Contributors to include Professor John Garry (QUB), the Electoral Reform Society and a representative of the Irish Citizens Assembly.

All Democracy Day events before 4pm are covered by a single registration – simply register once on any of the daytime event pages to attend as many events as you wish. Please register for Democracy Day events after 4pm individually.
