In a world of endless, unjust wars, an 18 year old boy from Derry decides to do something about it and join Isis. Back home his parents, Paddy and Claire, are mystified as to exactly how this could happen. Paddy is working hard for peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. Clare works in Tesco’s.

Emmet of Arabia is a one act play that presents a mix of viewpoints, including arguments for and against, both political and domestic, for Emmet’s actions, through the eyes of his bickering parents Paddy and Clare. This hilarious and touching play lasts one hour.

Mockingbird Theatre Group was formed by Ronan Carr and Anne Gallagher with the intention of bringing original, funny and insightful work to audiences the length and breadth of the country. Ronan is an award-winning writer and director (Coolockland-UPI Film of the year). He made his professional theatre debut in New York and has appeared in many plays and films most recently in Red Rock. Anne is an experienced actress who trained in Dublin. She has been involved in theatre in a variety of roles as actor, producer and writer.
