Belfast has had physical barriers separating residential communities since 1969.

By now they have shaped the pattern of daily life, relationships and public services. Over the last two decades, the pressure of international opinion has focussed on removing peace walls, culminating in the commitment in the NI Executive’s TBUC strategy to remove all walls by 2023.

This workshop starts from a thought experiment. What would the consequences of taking walls down be? For local communities, for services, for planning, for Belfast, for security… Bring your imagination!
