Loving Earth: The Workshop
Sign up for this practical workshop about designing and constructing textile artefacts that communicate how our ways of living can affect places, people and things that we love.
Loving Earth celebrates places, people, and other living and non-living things that we love but which are threatened by the climatic and ecological emergencies. It offers a way to engage creatively and constructively with difficult issues, without being overwhelmed. Participants in Loving Earth create small textile panels, along with some accompanying text, that communicate how our ways of living and being can affect places, people and things that we love.
The workshop will be conducted in the vicinity of a display of 50 Loving Earth textile panels, each with a brief accompanying commentary by the ‘panelist’.
Facilitation will be by Bronwen Haire with other members of the South Belfast Quaker Meeting. Numbers are limited for each workshop. So, if you are keen to participate, early registration is advised. The product of your participation could become part of future travelling exhibitions!
