The Black Box, Hill Street
18th March: 3.00pm – 4.00pm

In this entertaining and wide-ranging talk Martin explores the techniques, practice and purpose of Caricature, the 32,000 year old history of Visual Satire, the life and work of William Hogarth and the Power of Giving and Taking Offence.

The talk is copiously illustrated with images from the Stone Age, via the 18th Century, to Martin’s own 30 year career as a professional cartoonist for, at one point or another, almost every national daily newspaper. Martin is widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading cartoonist and political satirists.
