Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Michelle Shocked, affectionately known as the Godmother of Americana, brings her unique blend of indie, folk, blues, and politics to the festival.

Not one to shy away from controversy, Michelle’s dynamic personality, frank storytelling, and captivating vocals promise an intimate and unforgettable evening of music, as she performs tracks from each of her first three studio albums while discussing the highs and lows of her career.

Short Sharp Shocked, Captain Swing, and Arkansas Traveler are arguably Michelle’s most enduring works and Truth vs Reality will see her performing these hits, with plenty of banter and a few surprise numbers thrown into the mix.

“A triumphant performance.” Variety

“Second albums can often be a disappointment, but this is a firecracker.” Q Magazine on Short Sharp Shocked

“…it’s a show that leaves you pondering and debating what is right and wrong, weaving political debate with masterful songwriting and delivery.” The Wee Revie
