Reporting the Troubles
Following the success of the critically acclaimed Reporting the Troubles (2018), local journalists Deric Henderson and Ivan Little talk about their new book which examines the challenges of reporting during the conflict and which brings together new contributions from over sixty journalists writing about the events and people they could never forget from their time reporting in Northern Ireland.

For this special event, organised in association with Blackstaff Press, Deric and Ivan will be joined by Gareth Gordon and Freya McClements.

Deric Henderson was Ireland Editor at the Press Association. He is the author of the bestseller, The Secret, which was later made into a smash ITV drama series.

Ivan Little was a journalist at UTV for twenty-nine years and now writes for the Belfast Telegraph.

Gareth Gordon has been a BBC NI political correspondent since 2002 and was formerly a reporter with the Belfast News Letter and the Coleraine Chronicle.

Freya McClements is a writer and journalist. She is Northern Editor with The Irish Times and co-author of the award-winning Children of the Troubles: The Untold Story of the Children Killed in the Northern Ireland Conflict (Hachette, 2019).
