Southerners in the North Speak Up!
Hear three Southerners who have made the North their home – Richard O’Leary, Fidelma Carolan and John Barry – share their experiences of having crossed the border to live in the North.

This event is SOLD OUT.

Feel free to join the waitlist below as additional tickets may become available.

On the 25th anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement and with increased discussion of a shared island it is time for Southerners in the North to speak up and be heard.

As Southerners longtime resident in Northern Ireland, we are regularly asked “Are you up for the day?” Being mistaken because of our accents for day trip shoppers from the Republic can be a regular occurrence. But our decades of experience living in the North gives us a particular and different perspective on Northern Ireland and on North-South relations. Yet our unique perspective is rarely articulated or heard.

Chaired by Ruth McCarthy, Artistic Director and CEO with Outburst Arts and Outburst Queer Arts Festival.
