Canada Room, Lanyon Building, Queen’s University Belfast
29th March: 7.15pm – 9.15pm (with 6.30pm wine reception)

On the day scheduled for the UK’s exit from the European Union, six contributors to the new issue of Irish Pages, “The Belfast Agreement: Twentieth Anniversary Issue,” discuss their views on the achievement of the Agreement (and its relation to Brexit), as well as their highly diverse views, feelings and experience of it over 20 years, including the present moment.

Cover of Seamus Heaney’s North, painted by Neil Shawcross

Most of the 44 contributors are from Northern Ireland or the Republic. A major editorial consideration has been careful balance: by genre of writer, gender, age, background, outlook and county. This outstanding issue is a literary event of high contemporaneous civic importance to the North, the Republic, and Great Britain in the throes of Brexit.

Panelists include Monica McWilliams, Glen Patterson, Ruth Carr, Mathew O’Toole, Patricia Craig, Paul Arthur. Chaired by Chris Agee.
