Politics, music and nakedness collide for a uniquely psychedelic, fun-filled evening as The Great Big Naked Conspiracy Night makes its world première at the festival at McHugh’s Basement Bar in Queen’s Square. 8.00pm: The Naked Politics Show Live
Join Eileen Walsh, presenter and producer of the Weekly Arts Show on Drive 105 in Derry as she hosts The Naked Politics Show for the first time in front of a live audience. Canadian journalist and political analyst Ric Mullen will be making his stage debut as he discusses politics and current affairs with Eileen and the audience in his very best birthday suit. Tickets £10/£8 concessions.
9.30pm: The Great Big Conspiracy Gameshow
The Great Big Conspiracy Gameshow is a full-on interactive event where audience members contribute, compete and vote on the best (and worst) conspiracies ever. Fantastically inappropriate prizes awarded for the best entries on the night. There will also be prizes for outstanding entries received online through our social media campaign prior to the event. Prizes for different categories sponsored by independent businesses in Derry and Belfast: Comic Book Guys, Little Acorns Bookstore and The Donegal Shop, Derry as well as acclaimed graffiti artists Kev Largey (KVLR) and Tim McCarthy (VERZ), whose work you will be able to purchase on the evening at our Bizarre Bazaar. Special guests on the night include Belfast comic artist and writer Andy Luke, the author behind Sitcomspiracy, Axel America and We Shall Not Be Stapled. Tickets £10/£8 concessions.
11.15pm: The Barbiturates – Live and Dangerous!
Prepare to be blown away by an explosive live performance from psychedelic Derry Anti Pop band The Barbiturates, accompanied by beautiful, esoteric, dreamy politically charged film visuals. Their mantra is ‘Believe nothing, only understand’. Live these guys don’t just play a gig they put on a show! The first 100 people in will receive a free Barbiturates CD. And the band will also be selling raffle tickets for a Buckfast Sesh Hamper on the night. Tickets £10/£8 concessions.
