The Road to Reinvention:
Re-inventing the city.

How do you reinvent ‘the city’ after a pandemic?

In this informal and interactive workshop Urban Scale Interventions (USI) will consider this question and present two future initiatives that have the potential to re-invent the nature of the city landscape and how the public interact with it: The Urban Forest and The Belfast Rooftop Festival.

What if there was an urban forest on Royal Avenue in Belfast that reduced carbon emissions or a public park on the rooftop of Castlecourt Shopping Centre?

We want to explore the ways in which we can reclaim our city space with solutions that promote resilience and regeneration. There are only a limited number of places available for this workshop.

Urban Scale Interventions are a studio of researchers, architects, designers, strategists, filmmakers, producers, planners, technologists and makers based in Belfast. Through creative engagement, impactful design and quality delivery we help cities, governments and organisations to improve the lives of the people they serve. From reframing highstreets to new models of education, playful interventions, regenerative tourism or improved community wellbeing, we cut through the red tape, take risk, see the bigger picture and challenge the status quo.
