Activating the right to food in Belfast

Join the Belfast Food Partnership to get your teeth into food, rights and justice.

SATURDAY 29TH MARCH

2:00PM – 4:00PM

FREE ADMISSION

Join the Belfast Food Partnership as we get our teeth into food, rights and justice. We all know that decent food is a human right, but it’s not a reality for far too many people. Help us design a vision for the city that captures what a right to food REALLY looks like – and what it doesn’t!

We need all of our collective creativity, resilience and compassion to unlock the shifts we need for a kinder, more just food system in Belfast. Join us for some chat, some art and some food as we answer the question ‘How can a true right to food really leverage change in the food system?’.

This is a participatory workshop, held at the amazing Brink! site on Union St. It’s an outdoor site, so wrap up warm, and wear something you don’t mind getting painty or muddy. We’ll have some hands-on activities for all ages, and great local food from some of our neighbours in the city centre.

Brought to you by Belfast Food Partnership, Brink! and the Food Ethics Council.

The Belfast Food Partnership is an active, diverse and dynamic city-wide partnership representing all parts of the food system, which works collectively and collaboratively to create a food system in Belfast that is resilient, kind and fair to people, planet and animals. A food system which enables everyone in Belfast to have equitable access to nutrient rich, affordable food and creates conditions for a strong, fair local economy for all.

Children welcome with parental supervision.
