The food system in Belfast encompasses all of the elements and connections that are involved in growing, producing, manufacturing, supplying and consuming food. It includes agriculture, fisheries, food manufacturing, retail, food service, consumption and waste. It cuts across all aspects of policy including the economy, environment, education, welfare, health, transport, trade, planning and local government.

We need an approach that better integrates production and consumption in Belfast, putting more focus on circular economies, food justice, reconnecting people with locally produced food and enabling community – developed responses that can shape a sustainable food system.

Join us for this two-hour workshop exploring how to make better connections between the different parts of the system, and how the Belfast Sustainable Food Partnership aims to improve food for everyone.

Followed by a Food Systems Céilí.
