Henry Normal and Nigel Planer

Back by popular demand, we are delighted to welcome Henry Normal for a return visit to the festival – this time accompanied by Nigel Planer.

SUNDAY 24TH MARCH

8:00PM – 9:30PM (DOORS 7:30PM)

The Black Box, 18-22 Hill Street, Belfast

£15/£12

Henry has worked on some of television’s biggest hits – Gavin and Stacey, The Royle Family and The Mighty Boosh, among many others. He founded the Manchester Poetry (now Literature) Festival, has written eleven poetry books and in 2017 was honoured with a special BAFTA for his services to television.

Henry is joined by the very special guest Nigel Planer, a prolific poet and author, best known as Neil in The Young Ones plus many other performances including acclaimed Filthy Rich & Catflap. As well as novels, plays and TV and Radio scripts, Nigel has been writing poetry for over fifty years and has been published in the Guardian and in numerous anthologies.

He joins Henry Normal, BBC Radio 4’s ‘poet in reticence’ to reunite a team that entertains, educates and informs (but mostly entertains, it must be said). Expect poetry, stories, jokes, Q&A, fun, knitwear and a few surprises!
