Participatory Budgeting — Achievements and Ambitions

Participatory Budgeting — Achievements and Ambitions
Let’s keep putting people at the heart of decision-making!

THURSDAY 21ST MARCH

10:00AM – 12:00PM

Crescent Arts Centre, 2-4 University Road, Belfast

FREE ADMISSION

Join us for a panel discussion to share progress and learning on Participatory Budgeting (PB) practice across the region.

There have been over 40 PB processes in the last six years with citizens taking decisions on how public budgets should be allocated to deliver community led projects. The PB projects have covered a range of issues including health and wellbeing, community safety, village renewal, democracy, healthy eating and physical activity, younger people, housing and homelessness, community connections and collaboration to name a few. PB is continuing to grow and develop, and this is an opportunity to both celebrate achievements to date and to explore ambitions for the future through the PB Route Map.

Join us in conversation with some of our PB trailblazers, which include:

Tak£500+ led by the Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Community Planning Partnership

Glens Healthy Places led by Northern Area Community Network

Community Solutions to Housing and Homelessness, led by CFNI and Oak Foundation

Move More and Eat Well to Feel Better, led by Active Belfast Partnership

Sponsored by QUB Democracy Unit.
