Join Tommy Dunlop, a long term Art is Collective member and citizen of Belfast, to discuss his latest artwork Reflection, based on his recovery from living on the streets to spending the summer in Belfast School of Art studios painting for the summer.

Tommy Dunlop is a long term member of Art is Collective and an inspiration to all, he works to assist many on their recovery journey and this is an opportunity for you to hear about how art at different stages of his journey helped him and his latest large scale art piece.

Art is Collective is a group of artists that emerged from  the knowledge and experience of Bronagh Lawson and Ngaire Jackson working with adults with learning difficulties and the observation that at some point they required supported studio space. We have evolved in different ways via an exhibition called Right to Create at PS² = Paragon Studios for supported studio space Right to create – Paragon Studios, an assisted studio trial at Castlecourt called ‘Maker Mall’, temporary assisted studio space and exhibitions at Belfast School of Art and have more recently found a temporary home every Thursday 10:00am-2:00pm in the wonderfully inter-generation, inter-community space of 2 Royal Avenue. Art Is Collective is run entirely voluntarily.

The group continues to evolve and brings connections, collaborations and opportunities. 2025 will include some solo shows for long-time group members and a group exhibition in the University of Atypical gallery.
