‘The Eyes of the Storm’ is a photographic exhibition by Trócaire, celebrating the courage and determination of people on the frontlines of the climate crisis across the world. As well as sharing their powerful stories, this exhibition also urges people on the island of Ireland to join the climate movement and stand together in solidarity with those most affected. We need governments and corporations to act, and we need them to act fast. This exhibition is part of Trócaire’s Climate Justice Campaign which is calling for a fast, fair and funded phase out of fossil fuels.
The exhibition features the work of photographers who have accompanied Trócaire staff on visits to partners and programmes, including photographers from the Global South.
Images featured show the clear and devastating impact of climate change on many communities around the globe. It features the eyes of those caught in the storm of this ongoing crisis but who are calling for justice and working to build a brighter future for their communities. Those featured in the portraits are Trócaire partners or come from communities that work with Trócaire in Guatemala and Rwanda; countries who have done little to cause climate change but who face the injustice of experiencing the terrible consequences of it. We invite you to come along and look into the eyes of people who, though caught in the storm of this ongoing crisis, but who are calling for justice and working to build a brighter future for their communities.
The exhibition also features QR codes so that you can listen to some of those featured tell their stories in their own words. It also features some striking infographic panels which will challenge you to look at call for climate justice in a new light.
This is an impactful and hopeful look at the fight for climate justice around the world. Come and be inspired to join the fight for climate justice now!
