Ulster Orchestra: Towards Harmony

Performing ‘Towards Harmony’, the Ulster Orchestra arrives at Imagine!

FRIDAY 22ND MARCH

7:00PM

The Ulster Hall, Bedford Street, Belfast

£6–£34

Conflict and triumph in musical form appear in this Ulster Orchestra programme, through Shostakovich’s reflection of the futility of war in his Chamber Symphony in F Major and Mendelssohn’s celebration of the tercentenary of the Protestant Reformation. Weinberg’s First Flute Concerto, by turns cheerful and melancholy, sits neatly between both. There is a pre-concert talk taking place at 7:00pm.

Shostakovich Chamber Symphony in F Major

Weinberg Flute Concerto No. 1

Mendelssohn Symphony No. 5 Reformation

Featuring: VALENTINA PELEGGI, CONDUCTOR and ADAM WALKER, FLUTE.
